February's I Can't Afford It Award

I almost forgot February was almost over. I haven't had much time to even think lately.
Let's get to the winner shall we.

The winner of February's 2016 "I Can't Afford It Award" goes to this add.

I love how people somehow think you "gain" something from buying a new vehicle. You lose value almost imediately. If you decide to finance you become a slave to the lender agreeing to their terms including how much insurance you must have on the vehicle.

It's funny how people consider themselves higher class by the vehicles they drive yet the vehicle is not theirs they do not own it and as the above example shows one common hiccup in a families finances creates the decision to get rid of that vehicle. why? Because that freedom that eye candy that artificial, cover up of financial success suddenly over night becomes a problem a hindrance an eye sore and soon if not taken care could be a financial disaster. Your credit destroyed. your mobility taken away all because you listened to the sales guy didn't consider a few more situations that could come about such a JOB LOSS and made a decision to get a car with a 530 dollar payment a 1000 + dollar a year insurance and 400 dollar registration not to mention eventual tire replacement.
"But I get 10 year 100000 mile warranty" you say.

Really? ...........Really?

Your willing to pay 7760 dollars a year for peace of mind and to make your butt cool or hot whenever you want?? And then when the unthinkable happens you drive it to the bishops storehouse or the food bank and make up some lame excuse like "you don't know my situation" I may not. but I also know that your greedy choices have helped in creating this current situation and you should at least admit to that. Look if you paid everything but 5000 dollars off of this loan and had 100 dollar payment I would not have a problem. IF you put it that 5 grand on a credit card I  wouldn't have a problem but when you don't consider a emergency situation such as a job loss, how are you going to keep your car and keep food on the table (which 500 dollars a month would help with) and it creates another situation including losing your house and asking for donations meant for the poor than I have to ask. What are you thinking??

Have your cars paid for. It's not that hard

OH AND ONE LAST THOUGHT. SINCE WHEN ARE HYUNDAIS WORTH 30K????

Big announcement.

Big announcement to make! Finally after almost an entire decade of being a "slave to the lender" I have finally

PAID OFF My CAR!!!!

I kind of became obsessed with paying it off to the point I felt like the universe did not want me to pay it off. I was a week late from my original estimate. Checks that were suppose to be here last month were not here till this month. Bonuses were a week late and it also helps to have a tax return. In total we have had the best February earnings in our entire life! And it's not even over. In total we have put in our bank accounts around 20000 dollars. Did we even think of buying a new car or going on an extravagant vacations? No! Because we know there's higher priorities out there!

This is what bugs me so much. People using their tax returns to pay for vehicles that are going to be repoed or sold within the year because they cannot afford them. I'm not ok after getting a total of 20000 dollars. You should not be ok if you have any debt!! Pay it off. Stop and think. Stop going deeper in debt to look good or to keep up with the "Jones's". Your day will come as long as you make priority #1 to stay out of debt.

Again this blog is for the purpose of expressing my opinions and sharing facts to persuade people to stop giving their hard earned dollars to those that don't work. We do it daily through interest and frivolous purchases. Keep your hard earned dollars. Stop letting someone else up the chain get "easy" money while your working hard.

Have a great week.

Everybody needs to rant sometimes.

Rant warning. I don't do these often but with a few irritating circumstances within my wife's buisness I just need to get this off my chest.
I have never been wealthy. I actually grew up more within the poor zone. My school pictures usually had me wearing a hand me down t shirt from a baseball team or a book reading club I never was apart of. Alot of my clothes were donated to my family in large black garbage bags that some other family would give to my mom. No we didn't feel poor and through blessings from our heavenly father and great money management skills from my mom plus growing a huge garden every year we were able to live comefortable. I'm not one who wants to be rich so I can show off my wealth, I want to be wealthy so I can live more comfortable. It's a security aspect for me that's it.

I'm in my early 30s and there are a bunch of things that I haven't done mainly due to me and my wife raising a family young. I have never been to Alaska. I have never been to Hawaii. I have never been on a cruise. I have never to Paru. (Ok had to do that. Don't actually care to go to Paru it just rimed) I have never been to Florida or Disneyworld . I want to go to Cancun and yes have never done that either.  Bahamas would be nice too yet still not done that either. I have never had my kids paid for through medicaid and I have never used food stamps or the bishops storehouse! I write all of these things down because finally after 10 years of trying hard and struggling along the way giving up weekends to stay home because we simply can't afford gas to go anywhere we finally are making substantial progress. Credit cards that have held balances for more than 5 years are being paid off. Household project are a reality not just a wish. My mortgage is no longer a struggle to pay and just this past valentine's day weekend we booked a 4 day getaway for just me and my wife. My wife and I have never gotten away for that long just the two of us. Waiting for the jist of this rant? I'm getting to it.

So along our journey through life my wife and I have been in a few multi level marketing companies. I honestly don't like them Infact I almost hate them. In my opinion they continually take from the poor unsuspecting people who are filled with hopes of making it rich and it's always someone else they know that is driving a Lamborghini and making millions a year. Look if I put a carrot in front of a jackass more than likely he is going to move.

Thats what I feel like these companies do. Yeah some people do make it to the top but in order to stay their they HAVE to show you they're wealthy. Infact some companies like *Thrive* actually pay a car allowance  so it ENTICES more people to join who have a very low chance of getting anywhere because they control the market.

After trying hard with a particular popular multi level marketing company my wife bumped into a lady who was part of another company. She asked what a start up cost was but was told by this particular lady that the company she worked for was not accepting anyone new. A few weeks later my wife was offered a spot with the company and she accepted. We worked hard with this company and it paid well. Sometimes we could earn around 500 dollars a night. We didn't sell spots in this company we sold a PRODUCT and we sold alot. Unfortunately this company soon realized that in order to survive and because of legal issues they had to restructure the company into a multi level marketing company. So we had to adapt.

Now that you have the back story I can finally get to what is pissin me off.

If you ever been in a multi level marketing company you would know that one of the things you constantly need to do is to get other people to join. The problem is no matter how hard you try you cannot guarantee a person will join under you. You can be this persons friend help them out and train them for months and when they finally decide to join they write you a letter that goes something like this
"Hey, I hope you don't mind but I just found out my coworker (or friend or sisters friends aunts cousins nieces best friend) who doesn't even live close to me wants me to be on their team. Hope you can understand and we can still work together." We have had 3 like this and it's getting clear that we just are having some bad luck. All 3 were invested in through time and even physical work. One of them my wife helped her out while she was 6 months pregnant.

So that's my rant. I hope karma comes around to those who decide to do that whoever you are. In other news I'm about to pay off my car. More on that to come.
